💪 Pro tips
• Everything has a story behind it from the flatware to the reupholstered chairs, to the recipes – make sure to ask about everything.
• It’s a lot of wine so I recommend you pace yourself. Also, it’s a lot of delicious food so make sure to come hungry.
• One of our favorite wines was the 2022 Sonoma Coast Rose so we ended up buying a bottle and it was very affordable.

I've always felt a bit glamorous when I'm wine tasting in Napa,

but it takes us to a whole another level when you're invited to

a beautiful bungalow to share a slice of the wine country lifestyle.

we got to experience a one of a kind tasting like we've never experienced before.

The home was beautiful and held a mix of vintage

and modern decor and everything had a story behind it.

We loved spending time with our hosts Jeff and Joey,

We cozied up and enjoyed a wide array of their wine pairings.

It was such a comfy feeling getting to enjoy home cooked meals like we were family

I truly enjoyed watching our hosts cook our

vibrant and delicious meals right in front of us

Everything I put in my mouth was chef's kiss.

The desserts were piping hot and scrumptious.

We were pleasantly surprised of the live music,

💪 Pro tips
• One of the best cocktails I've had in recent months is their "Pho Margarita," which combines infused tequila with the aromatics you'd find in a bowl of pho. It's incredible! 
• Their food menu is great for snacking over cocktails, or enjoying a full family-style meal. My favorite bite was the Braised Mongolian Beef Short Rib!


Lilah

If you have an upcoming date night or evening out with friends,

I implore you to check out Bar Lilah on Chestnut Street.

The team behind Causwell’s just opened this quaint,

moody bar offering globally inspired low-proof craft cocktails and Asian food.

Knowing how delicious the Causwell’s cocktails are,

we were really excited to try out this bar.

which combined infused tequila with the aromatics that you taste in a bowl of pho,

and it was one of the best cocktails I've had in this city.

I had to try one of their shave-to-order cocktails,

which was incredibly fun to drink and such a great spin on a shaved ice dessert.

We enjoyed a handful of bar bites and plates,

our favorites including the green papaya salad,

the duck and pork belly Cambodian fried rice,

and since we can never leave a meal without a sweet treat,

we share their Japanese shaved ice strawberry dessert.

We're so glad this new spot is in our neck of the woods,

and I think it's the perfect ambiance for any weeknight or weekend occasion.

We can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!

Merchant Roots

the most creative prix fixe dinners ever conceptualized.

and their current menu capsule is called Humpty Dumpty,

a 15 course menu inspired by the folktale.

every dish contains an homage to broken things and an egg component,

which in this economy is quite the luxury.

We added the wine pairing to our experience,

We began at the bar encapsulated by the theme of “Breaking the Ice”,

We then moved into the dining room for the next two parts of the meal,

the breakfast course being our next venture.

The savory churro with a dippy egg and bacon jam was our favorite of this course,

concept for the world's smallest eggs Benedict.

The interactive nature of this meal is what makes the experience so stand-out.

The chefs are explaining their visions for each dish while you watch them plate

in the open kitchen and interact with your food using all your senses.

We moved into the “Break the Habit” course,

which consisted of this amazing carbonara with a cured yolk falling

off the wall, and a variety of meats and seafood,

the highlight for me being the filet mignon with broken bearnaise and bone marrow.

We were whisked into the last dining room for a three-course dessert finale,

which began with this egg bomb made out of edible shell.

The cheesecake paired with caviar was one of my other favorite bites,

and we rounded out with a phenomenal dessert wine. 

The space had a real life Humpty Dumpty's wall that acted as a guest book of sorts,

and even an edible strawberry bubble room.

This was a true dining experience layered with

storytelling and so much thought behind each dish,

and I cannot recommend it enough for a special occasion

or date night as their themes are ever evolving.

Get ready to hit the slopes of fun at Après Ski Night! Every Friday from 6-9pm until March 21st, cozy up at ALPINA, dine inside or outside, groove to live DJ Clay-Bandy, take a shot ski with friends, and indulge in a seasonal winter menu. Ski-inspired attire is a must!
