Drive an hour north of Seattle to pick berries before the season ends!

Pick strawberries at Biringer Farm in Arlington. A delightful experience with on-site weighing and paying, located just an hour from Seattle.

💪 Pro tips
• If you have flexible work hours/location, I highly recommend going on a weekday. Here’s how I did it:
 1) Leave Seattle at 8:30AM, drive 30-45 min to Narrative Coffee in Everett (https://narrative.coffee/)
2) Grab coffee/breakfast and work for ~2 hours
3) Drive to the farm around 11:00AM (30 min)
4) Pick berries for ~45 min
5) Leave Arlington around noon and drive an hour back to the city. 
With this schedule we avoided traffic in every direction, and it was the best two hour work break I could ask for!
• The U-pick price is currently $4.25 per pound, and if there’s a change you’ll see it on their website. There’s a $10 minimum for picking. Our full basket was $18
• If you miss strawberry szn, raspberries come next (should be late June)


Pick berries at Biringer Farm

It's strawberry season and you can pick delicious berries an hour from the city.

It’ll be much less crowded on a weekday,

so if you have a somewhat flexible work schedule,

check the plan details for tips on how to pull it off midweek.

But here's what you can expect at the farm.

You'll head inside to grab your basket and the staff

will direct you to the area that's ripe for picking.

I can't believe I've never done this before.

It was the most pleasant little scavenger hunt.

Resisting the temptation to eat them right in the field was tough.

Once you filled your basket head inside to weigh

and pay and grab a quick strawberry flavored treat.

The season doesn't last long. So get out there this week.

• There is a parking garage on 9th Ave and Westlake Ave — parking is validated by DRYP during the day but unfortunately you have to pay in the evening hours.
• 1 class is $25, but DRYP also offers weekly,  monthly, annual and “6:30 AM club” passes.

• Classes can get full so get there early to snag the best spot 🧘
• Whole Foods is located at the bottom of the stairs — grab a snack afterwards!

Come with me to take a yoga class at DRYP in South Lake Union.

The studio is located near the Whole Foods in SLU

so you can easily park in the parking garage.

I love coming here because it's a great way to handle

midweek burnout and also focus on my mind and body connection.

or you could go to the women's room, or across from it,

but I love going to Kelly Fulford's Yinyasa class at 7:30 on Wednesdays.

She teaches a slower practice that focuses on movement

and flow to get that needed energetic reset.

Bellingham Weekend Getaway

Drive to Bellingham from Seattle, a two-hour journey, often routed via scenic Chuckanut Drive. Ideal for a weekend stay to explore and rejuvenate.

• Bellingham is roughly a 2 hour drive from Seattle. Just get on the I5 and head north!

💪 Pro tips
• Take the scenic route through Chuckanut Drive! 
• While this could easily be a day trip, I recommend renting an Air BnB and staying the weekend! There are so many great ones to choose from (we stayed in Chuckanut) and it was so relaxing! Bellingham has a wonderful, easy going energy! It was so rejuvenating.

Visit South Bay Trail in Bellingham to enjoy a leisurely 2-mile walk by the water with scenic views and nearby shops like Eclipse Books.

• If you go in the fall or winter months, make sure you bundle up! Even though the sun was out, it was still cold! 
• The South Bay Trail is a paved, 2-mile path that follows along Bellingham Bay. It connects to other trails, as well, like the Interurban Trail.
• Parking wasn’t difficult! There were lots of different places to park.

• There are some shops near the path! We stopped by Eclipse Books and picked up some free books!

Take a stroll by the water

Explore Oldtown at Locus in Bellingham; support local businesses like Mallard Ice Cream, Ritual Records, and Bayou on Bay while enjoying street parking convenience.

• There are so many cute, local businesses to support! Some of our favorites were Henderson Books, Locus coffee shop, Mallard Ice Cream, Bison Bookbinding & Letterpress, Bayou on Bay (Cajun restaurant! So good!)and Ritual Records! 

Come with me on a weekend trip to Bellingham to check out some coffee shops,

and there were so many great pastries to choose from,

and we ended up sharing a Danish and got some specialty coffees

We also looked at the little shop in the back

not just because we got lucky with a beautiful day,

And the water is just so still and pristine.

we stumbled by this bookstore and even though it was closed,

The next morning we got a quick breakfast at Locus,

which is another coffee shop before going downtown to Henderson Books,

We were in here for a really long time and these are the books I picked up.

We spent the rest of the day exploring downtown

and enjoying the weather before heading back to Seattle.

This unique event features a paper flower making workshop with Farren Celeste,

followed by a wonderful intro to yoga class taught by Kelsey from Where Collective.

The room was so inviting and well decorated as soon as we walked in,

and Farren did an amazing job of walking us through the process

of making these adorable paper flowers inspired by the real deal.

What looked so intimidating became so easy and

Fareen and Kelsey raffled off jewelry and even more intricate paper flowers.

making us feel powerful as we got our bodies moving.

If you think you can't spend your time outside when it's cold,

because the cycle saloon showed me that sometimes you

Cycles Saloon is Seattle's only party biking company that uses your team of up

to 16 to drive the vehicle across to bars and breweries in Ballard.

We booked this for my boyfriend's birthday and had an absolute blast.

We started by meeting our lovely vehicle drivers and then

set straight to Ruben's for some good old beer.

can usually fit in about 3 breweries on this tour where you

buy your own drinks and have about 45 minutes to hang around.

a game where you had to chug your drink in the least amount of sips possible to win.

the biking component of this actually is a workout.

You really need to be a team player and pull your weight.
